(re)START- IT WANTED

On December 11, 2020, the online International Conference (re) START-IT WANTED in the field of IT technologies and digital skills was held. The event was hosted by our partner from the Center for Integration – Lithuania in the framework of the EDIBO (European Digital Bootcamps), a European project that promotes youth training and employment, financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment. The Institute for Youth Initiatives and Innovations, as a national project partner, took part in the international conference, inviting young people (NEETs) from all over the country who have already passed the digital & entrepreneurship skills training courses (EDIBO Bootcamps), their trainers, interested IT companies and institutions.

Although online, the conference was extremely interesting and attracted 60 participants from partner countries – Greece, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Latvia. Three professionals from the IT sector in Lithuania were the keynote speakers at the international conference, who in an attractive and accessible way gave the best knowledge about this mystical business sector. One of the speakers, Darius Dužinskas, Chief People & Marketing Officer in IT company Baltic Amadeus, made a presentation “IT myths and reality: people in IT, work rhythm, qualification”. For almost 15 years he has been raising competencies in HR and employer branding fields in different companies. “How to Become an IT Professional”, Monika Simaškaitė, CEO of Turing School (programming and digital skills school), Harvard CS50 representatives in Lithuania is a technology education enthusiast with projects such as Women Go Tech, Mommypreneurs, Digital Explorers and others. She has been developing education programs, carrying out studies (ICT professionals in Lithuania by Infobalt) and building relations between education and business sectors. Kilo Health’s Chief Technology Officer, Donatas Benitiis, presented what IT companies are most in demand. Mr. Benitiis works on various projects and constantly sets the strategic direction and future growth of Kilo Health with an incredible team of technological talents. He controls the overall technological development and manages all information technology resources of the company.
